A piece of hair of the Prophet Muhammad, brought to Moscow from Dagestan, will be displayed in Crocus City Hall. The relic was handed over to the Dagestani people to keep by Sheikh Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Khazraji. The press service of the Russian Muftis Council said that worship of the relic is not accepted and "it will be displayed more like a museum exhibit”. The relic can be accessed only by visitors who purchase entrance tickets in advance - they have been sold out. The exhibition will take place within the framework of celebrations of the Muslim festival of Mawlid al-Nabi, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. It is celebrated on the 12th day of the third lunar month, which was January 3 this year. However, Russian muslims traditionally hold religious meetings connected with the celebration for a month after Mawlid al-Nabi.
