EU to convene urgently to discuss RussiaIn the near future the European Union might convene an emergency summit on Russia. A EU parliamentary, Rebecca Harms who asked to convene the meeting said it is necessary to give a unified response to the events in Ukraine. She added that in connection to events in Ukraine, European leaders need to review the issue of sanctions.Mrs. Harms also said that it is necessary to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. "The undeclared war in eastern Ukraine poses a threat to global security. All parties involved should immediately sit down at the negotiating table," she said.Today, President Barack Obama talked in favor of adopting new sanctions against Russia.
