New threats force Russia to modernize Armed Forces

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a session of the commission for military and technical cooperation with foreign states that Russia was expanding its presence on the weapons markets of the Asia-Pacific Region, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, RIA Novosti reports. 

In his words, new challenges and threats are forcing many countries to reconsider military doctrines and modernize their national forces.
