Yildiz: Turkish Stream will become a rival to TANAP
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Taner Yildiz, said that after determination of the route of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, healthy competition began between it and the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline project (TANAP).
The Minister noted that the first line of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline with a pumping capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be extended to Turkey in December 2016.
Earlier, Yildiz said that Turkish Stream will not become a rival to TANAP. Yesterday, speaking about the results of the meeting in Ankara between the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yildiz, Gazprom defined the route of the Turkish stream pipeline along the bottom of the Black Sea.
The preliminary results of a feasibility calculation for the new pipeline were reviewed at the meeting and a decision on its route was made.The capacity of four lines of the pipeline will be 63 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
The gas pipeline will pass along 660 kilometers in the old corridor of South Stream and 250 kilometers in the new corridor in the direction of the European part of Turkey.
