Prosperity and employment rose in Azerbaijan in 2014

As of January 1, 2015, the volume of bank deposits in Azerbaijan increased by 12.4% to 7.2 billion manats, a record for the country, as stated by the deputy head of the State Statistical Committee, Rauf Selimov, Trend reports. 

Expenditure of the population in 2014 increased by 4.8%. The average wage amounted to 443 manats, the average pension was 173.4 manats. 

21.8 billion manats were invested in Azerbaijan in 2014, 58.5% of the sum belonged to national investors. Investments in foreign countries increased. 127,000 new jobs were created in 2014, reducing unemployment by 0.1% to 4.9%. Poverty dropped by 0.3% to 5%.
