Gholamali Khoshroo will represent Iran at the United Nations

This decision was taken in the Iranian Foreign Ministry. “Gholamali Khoshroo has been appointed as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations headquarters in New York,” RIA Novosti reported, quoting a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The statement stressed that the MFA decision is an important step to protect the interests of the country and to implement its positions on international issues, "especially considering the current critical condition in the region and the world".
Khoshroo is Iran’s current ambassador to Switzerland. He was deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs between 2002 and 2005, when Iran started its nuclear negotiations with world powers.
