Lukashenko: Russia is sacred to me

Belarus, due to its geopolitical position, "without zigzagging" conducts a multi-vector foreign policy, President Alexander Lukashenko said at a press conference for Belarusian and foreign media. 

"We have never knelt before anyone — neither the West nor the East," he said. 

According to the President, Belarus "has never been a traitor to Russia". 

"I'm not in the least moved away from our obligations to the Russian Federation", he added.

Lukashenko sees his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin as friendly, "I told him everything I thought", he said.

"We have never betrayed anyone," TASS cited the head of Belarus. "Russia is sacred to me," he said. 

"However, this does not mean that we will fight with the West in someone's interests," Lukashenko continued.

"We have the same goal – peace and tranquility on our land," the President said.
