Head of Dagestan supports rally against cartoons of Prophet Muhammad

A motor rally against cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, planned on the route from Dagestan to Crimea, will unite Muslims of the Republic, the head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdullatipov believes.

 

"The situation around the French weekly that published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad and other prophets, united many Dagestanis who went on this trip in the name of peace and kindness. Guests from Dagestan are greeted warmly in all regions of the North Caucasus and in Crimea," Abdullatipov Ramadan said, commenting on the rally, the portal YUGA reports.

 

He noted that the event was attended by dozens of people of different professions, ethnicities and religions, among whom were well-known spiritual leaders and public figures, athletes and government officials. They were joined by representatives of the club of motorcyclists Night Wolves, led by Alexander "Surgeon" Zaldostanovym.

 

In Simferopol a demonstration from Dagestan to Crimea "With Love for the Prophets" had arrived the day before. On the stadium "Fiolent" the protesters met with residents of the Crimean capital, which supported the protest against the publication of cartoons of the Prophet; a rally also was organized to mark the arrival of the participants. During the visit the protesters met with the mufti of Crimea, Emirali Ablaev.

 

"Our brother Crimeans fully support our attitude to any instances of disrespect for the holy places, I am sure this action will strengthen communication and Crimean Dagestani Muslims and unite the Muslim Ummah," stressed the head of Dagestan.

 

On the initiative of Dagestani youth more than 200 cars drove through the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District to Simferopol to protest against the publication of cartoons of the Prophet in the magazine Charlie Hebdo.
