Zones with higher seismic activity named in Azerbaijan

The zones with the highest seismic activity and magnitudes have been named in Azerbaijan.

The average seismic hazard in the country is rated 8. The average rate in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone is 7, Trend reports. The southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, from Qabala to Balaken, and the south of the country have a magnitude of 9. 

The Shamakhti-Ismaili zone has an average of 10. 

The coastline of Baku has a high seismic hazard rating, lowering in the central part of the city.
