Underwater earthquake hits Azerbaijan sector of Caspian Sea

An underwater earthquake hit the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea today, according to a message posted on the website of the Republican Seismological Service Center of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The earthquake was recorded at 08:36 local time, according to preliminary data.

The earthquake’s magnitude was 3.9, and its epicenter was at a depth of 57 kilometers.
