Davutoglu: moving Turkey to presidential form of government is important for Turkey

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed the importance of the country's transition to a presidential form of government.

 

"This issue has been discussed for ten years," Turkish Haber7 TV channel cited Davutoglu.

 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was then prime minister, said on the eve of the presidential election in August 2014 that Turkey must pass to the presidential form of government.

 

According to him, this can benefit the country’s further development.Erdogan said that the issue will be raised after the presidential election.

 

At present, the legislative power in Turkey belongs to the unicameral parliament - the Grand National Assembly, Trend reports.
