Georgia regains rights to 4 brands of wine
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgia has had its rights to a Georgian wine brand in China returned, after it was illegally appropriated by a certain individual: the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) cancelled the registration name of the place of origin of Hvanchkara wine products, the service of public relations of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia 'Saqpatenti' informs. In addition, SIPO made the decision to cancel the registration of the brands Tsinandali, Kindzmarauli and the geographical indicated liqueur Chacha. A statement about the revocation of Saqpatenti was addressed to the SIPO on 23 May 2013. At the moment decisions are being made about the wines Hvanchkara, Tsinandali, Kindzamauri and the spirits Chacha. Assessments of Tvishi and Mukuzani are not over, News-Georgia reports. Georgia will acquire the status of the owner of these brands of wine after the deadline for appealing the decision has passed.
