A draft resolution proposed today to Congress on the use of military force against Islamic State does not require additional funding, according to spokesman for the White House Josh Ernest.

"There are no special requests for additional funds from the administration," he said, noting that in the past Congress has already allocated the necessary funds for the fight against the Islamists.

In the text of the document proposed by Obama, the threat of "IS to the population and stability in Iraq, Syria, for the entire Middle East and to US national security is stated." Radicals, in particular, threaten Americans working in the region, US property and are responsible for the deaths of many hostages, according to the draft resolution.

The resolution has a time limit - 3 years. "The draft resolution on the use of military force, represented by my administration, will not allow to carry out long-term, large-scale land-based military operations such as those carried out by America in Iraq and Afghanistan. Local forces, instead of US troops, will have to engage in such operations," TASS cited the document.
