Merkel: we have no illusions about Ukrainian settlement

The Normandy Quartet leaders have no illusions regarding the settlement of the situation in Ukraine, but there is a real chance to improve the situation, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel told a press conference.

"We have reached an agreement on a ceasefire from 00:00 on February 15,” she noted. 

“We have no illusions. We know that we need to do much work. But there is a real chance to improve the situation," RIA Novosti cited her as saying. 

The German Chancellor addressed a joint briefing with French President Francois Hollande after about 17 hours of negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
