Ukrainian president highlights readiness of EU to implement visa-free regime

 

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said after a meeting with EU leaders in Brussels that he had asked Europe to implement a visa-free regime for Ukraine at the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga in May and gotten a positive response, Gazeta.ru reports.He hopes that visas would be lifted already in May 2015. In late June 2014, Poroshenko said at the PACE that Kiev was expecting implementation of a visa-free regime on January 1, 2015.
