President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told Russian media outlets about his impressions of the talks held on Wednesday and Thursday in the format of the Normandy Quartet, designed to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

The President stressed that he does not think that in this way Belarus has improved relations with the West. "I am not here to cherish any hope. I'm not of the age when people are shy, trying to make sharp turns cool. If you think that this is the reason for me somewhere to incline, throw it out of your head. And we are all Russian people, listen what it was about. Perhaps importantly, how would you get any thought about our relationship with the Russian President, first of all we are friends. Not only siblings, but also friends. Consider this when making conclusions," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He also added that Belarus has no intention of leaving the EaEC. "I was accused of… well, it's usual for me that Lukashenko wants to withdraw from the treaty. Why should we? It is very beneficial. It is profitable. We see prospects in it", Lukashenko said.
