Kislyak says Washington realizes that Russia cannot be broken by sanctions

Russia's ambassador to the US, Sergei Kislyak, said today that Washington has already understood the ineffectiveness of sanctions in attempting to put pressure on Russia.

"All these sanctions are originally illegitimate and counterproductive. They were and will remain so, unless the US decides to expand them. As for the effectiveness of these sanctions in terms of the objectives for which they were implemented by our American counterparts, then, in my opinion, they now have quite a clear conscience, that they are not going to influence Russia," he underlined in an interview for TV-channel Russia 24.
