Azerbaijani develops oil spill plan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijan has developed a plan to prevent and clear oil spills,
Azerbaijani Emergencies Minister Kemaleddin Heydarov said at the Kaz
Energy forum in Astana. A special emergency and rescue service is
operating as part of the ministry.
The minister"s report on the cooperation of the Caspian states in
preventing oil spills was presented as part of a section on the
lessons of the the catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, Trend reports.
The Eurasian forum Kaz Energy has started in Kazakhstan. The main
topic is the energy map of Eurasia: the balance of risks and new
opportunities. Official of state structures of Kazakhstan and other
countries, the managing authorities of the world oil and gas and
energy companies, business community and leading experts were at the
forum. Kazakh association of oil and gas and energy enterprises of Kaz
Energy complex were establishers of the forum.
Azerbaijani and Kazakh emergencies ministers Kemaleddin Heydarov and
Vladimir Bozhko signed an agreement on improving coordination in
preventing emergency situations in the region.
