Afghanistan takes control of Turkish ISAF camp in Kabul

Afghanistan has taken control of the Turkish ISAF camp in Kabul, according to Turkish General Mehmet Bakir in charge of the camp. He noted that the Turkish military have been stationed in the camp since 2002.

About 250,000 Afghan citizens have been treated there, Anadolu reports. 

Azizuddin Ayar, spokesman of the Afghan Defense Ministry, said that the camp will be used to service military vehicles. 457 Turkish soldiers serve in the ranks of the NATO ISAF mission. 

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu declared Ankara’s plans to increase their numbers to 1100. They will be stationed on the territory of Kabul International Airport.
