Turkish Airlines plane crashes into snow drifts in Istanbul

A Turkish Airlines plane which was flying from Beirut has skidded off the runway at Istanbul Ataturk Airport and crashed into snow drifts. 

All the passengers of the plane were quickly evacuated, no injuries were reported, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports.Yesterday Turkish Airlines cancelled 117 domestic flights scheduled for February 17-18 due to heavy snowfall in Istanbul, Trend reminds. 

According to the Turkish media, the snow cover in Istanbul currently reaches 35 centimeters.
