Iraq-Kurdish force to retake Mosul

A joint Iraqi-Kurdish military force is being prepared to retake the Iraqi city of Mosul from Islamic State, a US official said.

The senior military official has said that the operation to recapture the northern city would probably take place in April or May and it will engage up to 25,000 soldiers trained by American instructors, Trend reports.

Such disclosure of plan of attack is unusual, but Washington said that the Islamic forces in the area are departing now.
