Ilham Aliyev receives Azerbaijani winners of Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received members of the national team that won the World Cup in Greco-Roman wrestling in Iran.

He congratulated the sportsmen and representatives of the Wrestling Federation on such a high record. According to the President, the Azerbaijani wrestlers' achievements at the world and European championships, as well as the Olympic Games, further stimulate the growth of interest in this sport among children and youth. 

The President stressed that sport plays an important role in the public policy of Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the Azerbaijani wrestlers will repeat the success achieved in Iran at the European Games in Baku, and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
