Armenian Parliament votes against President’s impeachment

The National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia did not pass the draft decision on impeaching President Serzh Sargsyan at today's meeting. Only four MPs voted for this draft, whereas 68 deputies cast their ballots against it. The person behind this draft is opposition Armenian National Congress NA faction member Nikol Pashinyan.Last week, the bill was already rejected by the Standing Committee of Parliament on State and Legal Affairs. Two MPs from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, Arpine Hovhannisyan and Hovhannes Sahakyan, noted during the discussion that the initiative has no legal basis, does not contain clear language and shows the personal opinion of the opposition parliamentarian, RIA Novosti reminds.
