Lavrov and Kerry plan to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue on February 28
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaU.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that he planned to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on February 28 to discuss Iran's nuclear program and developments in Syria.
"I will be leaving on Saturday for meetings with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Syria and other things. I will be negotiating with Iran for the rest of that week," Kerry said.
Negotiators from Iran and six major powers will hold a new round of talks over the Islamic Republic's nuclear program on March 2, TASS reminds.
The venue for the meeting involving Iran and the P5+1 group has not been finally determined yet. It is possible that it will take place in Geneva again. On March 2 Lavrov will attend the U.N. Human Rights Council session in Geneva. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is also expected to participate in the meeting.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will join it on March 3, while participation of the other foreign ministers from the P5+1 group has not yet been announced.
