Georgia asks IMF for financial assistance

Kakhaber Kaladze, the secretary general of the Georgian Dream coalition of Georgia, said that negotiations with the IMF have started to save the national currency, the lari, which has been losing value since November 20, 2014, abc.az reports. 

Budget expenses will be cut in the next few days. The economic growth rate will total 2.25% in 2015, instead of the original 5% planned. 

The Georgian currency rate fell from 1.74-1.76 to 2.2619 lari per dollar. On March 1, Georgia raised gas prices for companies.
