Free Syrian Army to start training in March

Spokesman of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Tanju Bilgic said that realization of the U.S. program on training and arming of the Free Syrian Army will start on March 1. Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu and U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass signed the document in Ankara last week, RIA Novosti reports.


Turkish and U.S. experts will train 2,000 soldiers of the Free Syrian Army in the Kirsehir Province of Turkey this year. A total of 15,000 will be trained and armed in three years. Saudi Arabia and Qatar will assist in the realization of the program.
