Demonstration in Ingushetia

An anti-terrorism demonstration was held on the main square of the Ingush capital city, Nazran. The demonstration was organized by the regional offices of Russian political parties and various public organizations. The President of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, addressed a speech to the participants.

The President said that the republic is now facing serious problems. Recent terrorist attacks not only brought death to many people, but have also spread panic among the local population. People have become suspicious and aggressive. Islam, a peaceful religion, is now associated with terrorism.

According to President Yevkurov, young people especially are in danger, as they are often unable to withstand the  harmful influence of extremists. That is why it's necessary to control the younger generation and that is the aim of family, he said.
