Diplomats of Georgia and Turkmenistan hold political consultations
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTbilisi has hosted political consultations between Deputy Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the sides discussed issues related to the organization of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Georgia this year. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the political, economic, trade, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, particularly in the areas of health, science and education, sports and tourism.
The two sides also stressed the need to strengthen joint efforts in the energy and transport sectors, including the continuation of the development of the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridor.
Furthermore, the sides noted the prospects for the development and strengthening of parliamentary ties.
Speaking about issues of cooperation in international organizations, the diplomats stressed the importance of further contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries, noting that these political consultations are considered as an important part of the intergovernmental dialogue, news portal Georgia Online reports.
