The United National Movement party, whose leader is the wanted ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili, has announced its intention to hold a rally on March 21 on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, demanding the resignation of the government of Georgia.

On February 28, representative of the National Movement Zurab Japaridze told a press conference that the decision was taken after an extraordinary meeting in the parliament was not held, which was to be created in a country considered to be in "a difficult economic situation."

"Today an extraordinary session of the parliament was held, where it was planned to make a review of the difficult economic situation in the country and ways out of it. The government and the parliamentary majority acted irresponsibly and did not come to the meeting," the opposition politician is quoted by Interfax-Azerbaijan.
