IS militants release Christian captives
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIslamic State released 19 Assyrian Christian captives in Syria on Sunday, after processing them through a sharia court, the Supervisory Board for Human Rights in Syria said.
A representative of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, Bashir Saedi, said that the 16 men and 3 women were released, and now they are all safe on the territory of the Christian Church. It was not clear why the Islamic State group released them. The fate of the remaining Christian captives is also unclear, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, it was reported that representatives of the IS terrorist group had seized 220 Assyrian Christians in the northeast of Syria, Gazeta.ru reports with reference to Reuters.
