Abkhazia activates work in Geneva discussions
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAbkhazia will renew its active participation in Geneva discussions for
security and stability in the South Caucasus, RIA Novosti reports,
citing the Abkhaz representative at the discussions, Vyacheslav
Chirikba.
At the previous talks in Geneva in July, Abkhazia reduced its presence
at the discussions. On October 14, a new round of talks will start.
The discussions were organized by the EU, the UN and the OSCE. They
activated their efforts to come to a compromise document, Chirikba
believes.
The official said that they do not expect any breakthroughs, mainly
due to the "non-constructive positions of the Georgian side" but they
will continue work to sign a peaceful agreement and a non-use of force
agreement between Abkhazia and Georgia, he said.
