Tajik opposition leader killed in Turkey

The law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan are waiting for the Turkish authorities to confirm information on the murder of Tajik opposition leader Umarali Kuvvatov, TASS reports.

 

The General Prosecutor's Office is still unavailable for comment.

 

The investigation into the murder of Tajik opposition figure Umarali Kuvvatov was launched by the homicide department and the counter-terrorism security directorate of Turkey, the Dogan news agency said on Friday.

 

The body of 47-year-old Kuvvatov was delivered to the main morgue in Istanbul.
