Russian Vice Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin is marking his 50th birthday. The Russian politician was born in Colombo (Sri Lanka) on March 6, 1965. He had been the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory for 8 years before moving to the Stavropol Territory. In January 2010, Khloponin became the plenipotentiary presidential envoy to the North Caucasus and vice prime minister of Russia.

The politician left the post of the envoy to the NCFD in 2014, remaining deputy head of the government. Khloponin has many awards, including the Order of Honour for Merit for the Fatherland.
