European Commission to consider submission on Khojaly

The European Commission has responded to the submission on the Khojaly genocide from the Congress of Azerbaijanis of the Benelux countries, filed on February 13, 2015. President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that he will recommend that EU Chief Diplomat Federica Mogherini consider the submission, Trend reports.

Armenia committed genocide against the population of Khojaly on February 25-26, 1992, using the 366th Russian Motorized Infantry Regiment stationed in Khankendi. 613 people were killed, 487 injured, 1,275 imprisoned. Many have not returned from imprisonment, their fate is unknown.
