A secret stash of silver coins and jewelry that dates back to the time of Alexander the Great has been found in a cave in northern Israel.

Experts have suggested that the valuables might have been hidden in the cave during the period of governmental unrest stemming from the death of Alexander, TASS reports.

In February, scuba divers off Israel's coast came upon about 2,000 gold coins from the Fatimid period (909-1171 years).
