Food prices continue rising in Armenia

Food prices have been increasing steadily in Armenia.


The smallest price increase has been noted in the case of the beef. Prices for beef rose by 2.1%, bread - by 6.5%, lamb - by 8.5%, pasta and noodles - by almost 10%, lentils - by 21.4%, beans - by 26.2%, buckwheat - by 32%.


The sharpest price increase was recorded in the price of pork. The population of these animals in the country has still not recovered after the outbreak of African swine fever in 2007. As a result, the share of imported meat of these animals on the Armenian market last year reached 43%. Due to this, prices for pork rose by 36%, NEWS.am reports.
