Head of Russian Investigation calls for benefits for investigators working in North Caucasus
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe acting head of the Russian Investigation Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, has called for benefits to be given to investigators working in the North Caucasian republics, RIA Novosti reports.
Bastrykin said that local investigators cannot solve criminal cases without federal structures. He recalled that 6 investigators have been killed in the last few years. According to Bastrykin, the police of Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Chechnya “lose 5-6 people daily”.
He said that the Investigation Committee is developing special preliminary research groups, consisting of explosive device engineers, fingerprinting and portrait identification.
Bastrykin also said that the committee will still have military investigators until 2012.
