The Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu, said on the eve of the 4th Moscow international security conference that the fight against international terrorism is now acquiring a comprehensive nature, and that concerted efforts by the military agencies of different countries are needed.

He noted that the events of 2014 "showed severe destructive changes in the global security system", when "mechanisms developed over many years for resolving international problems began to falter."

In addition, the minister pointed out that "a crisis of confidence is obvious and has a bad affect, including in cooperation in the military sphere."
