Icheri Sheher celebrates Nowruz

In the center of Baku's Old City, Icheri Sheher, festive events on the occasion of Nowruz are being held. The scent of flowering trees, which is prevailing in the air, gives this spring holiday even more magic. Despite the rainy weather, the festivities are taking place before a large crowd.

In the festival of Nowruz masters of arts of Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are involved – ANS reports.

At the fortress gates Gosha Gala gapysy, "Maidan markets" are organized, presenting souvenirs, folk arts and crafts, movies, traditional folk cuisine and others.

During the festival, in the square at the Gosha Gala gate, in front of the Maiden's Tower and the square where the monument to the famous Azerbaijani poet Aliaga Vahid is located, concert programs are undergoing.
