Gagauzia headed by Irina Vlach
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIndependent candidate Irina Vlah is winning the gubernatorial election in the Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia with over 50% of the votes, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the autonomy said.
In particular, Irina Vlach received 51.01% (32,543 votes), Nicholas Dudoglo, her most serious rival, gained 19.05% (12 154) and the deputy head of the Gagauzia executive authority Valeriu Yanioglo ranked third with 7.96% (5080). The ballot turnout slightly exceeded 58%: 63,793 people of 105,839 eligible voters.
Irina Vlah was backed by the Moldovan Party of Socialists.
