Azhdar Kurtov: "Russia needs prosperous neighbors in Central Asia"

The Central Asian region is a traditional area of interest, which in recent years increasingly overlaps with those of other regional and even global players, and the most interested in maintaining a zone of stability on its southern borders is Russia. In connection with the appearance of the group Islamic State, which poses a serious threat to the region, security issues along with issues of cooperation and deepening of integration processes on the agenda of Russia's relations with the five countries of Central Asia.
