Five people were injured after a shell launched from Syria fell in the Turkish province of Hatay. The General Staff of the Turkish Republic said that no deaths were recorded, although five residents were injured.

According to available information, a shell fell near the locations of border units. "The projectile broke the windows of the surrounding houses and damaged two military vehicles. The explosion left a crater after falling [15 meters wide and 7 meters deep]," TASS cited a statement of the General Staff.

According to the Turkish military, the rocket, thought to have been fired by Syrian government forces at opponents, fell in the Reyhanli district in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay.

In line with the rules of engagement, two 155 mm Fırtına type howitzers from the Hatay border base responded by firing at the artillery positions of the Syrian regime.
