Peskov: Arms supplies from Chechnya to Mexico impossible

Russia’s Chechen Republic cannot supply weapons to Mexico, as it goes against Russian legislation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on statements by the Chechen Republic’s parliamentary speaker Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov.

"The constituent entities of the Russian Federation cannot deliver special equipment to other countries or sell special equipment. This is not in line with the law," TASS cited Peskov.

He noted that he does not know the details of Abdurakhmanov’s statements. 

"They [such statements] have to be coordinated with Moscow. I don’t know what this statement is connected with, but such actions [supplying weapons] would contradict Russian laws," he concluded.
