Kazakhstan expects the objectivity of election observers

Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov has met with the head of the Election Observation Mission (EOM) from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Cornelia Jonker.


During the conversation he assured that the republic's authorities intend to provide the most open, transparent and fair election in line with the internal rules of law and the highest international standards.


"Election observation is an important means of supporting democracy and human rights. Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the quality of the observation process, which largely depends on the composition of the election observation mission," Trend cited the Minister.


Idrissov also said that the CEC will provide a high organization level of holding the voting, taking into account previous recommendations of the OSCE and other international organizations.


Cornelia Jonker, in her turn, emphasized the election observation mission’s readiness for an impartial and unbiased observation.
