A 4.5 million square meter underground city has been discovered in Turkey's Cappadocia region. The depth of the tunnels can be hundreds of meters. So this underground city may in fact be bigger than a similar complex in nearby Derinkuyu, which was large enough to accommodate about 20,000 people.

The city was provided with water channels and ventilation shafts. Its winery and underground church have survived to our days. "We are currently working on clearing the rubble from the underground city," Armenia Today reports.
