Turkish parliament approves agreement on nuclear plant construction

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey has approved an agreement with Japan on the construction of nuclear power plant in the province of Sinop.


An agreement on construction of a second nuclear power plant in Sinop province in Turkey with Japan was signed in 2013. Implementation of the project is scheduled for completion by 2023. The project cost is $22 billion. The nuclear power plant will produce about 40 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity per year.
