Flour Corp. subsidiary to build chemical factory in Sangachal

 

A Flour Corp. subsidiary will build a new oil refinery and a petrochemical factory in Sangachal (60km south of Baku, where the main oil pipelines reach the Caspian Sea) for $16.5 billion, Reuters reports.The new complex will substitute refineries in Baku and Azerneftyag, gas-processing factories in Garadag and Azerkimya. Fluor Corp. will choose a sub-contractor for engineering works.The gas-processing facility will have a capacity of 12 billion cubic meters a year, the petrochemical facility will produce 800,000 tons of polyethylene and 300,000 tons of polypropylene.
