Bloomberg" "If Greece does not reverse its decision, the European Union will face the threaten of a split"
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIndependent American edition Counter Punch published an article entitled 'Why Iran distrusts the US.' Negotiations on the nuclear program of Iran are not based on evidence but on assumptions that Iran is developing weapons. Surrealism at a diplomatic level is unique, and one can only admire the patience of Iran. But the thing is that despite the fact that the governments of both the US and Israel claim that Iran is going to build nuclear weapons, the special services of these countries, still suggest otherwise. The truth is that Western countries are trying to prevent Iran from becoming a powerful state in the Middle East, and towards this purpose any threats are used, even military intervention.
If Washington insists on toughening sanctions, there are diplomats in Israel who want to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities, even if it would lead to massive loss of life and environmental disaster. Despite the data from the US intelligence agencies, the international community at the time took the unprecedented decision to impose sanctions against Iran, and this decision was made to divert Western countries away from more pressing domestic problems.
The negotiations taking place at the moment are designed to resolve the situation and to break Iran, forbid the use of centrifuges, but we are not talking about the immediate and unconditional lifting of sanctions, which is so necessary for the country. The fact is that for the Western countries it is not necessary to be friends with Iran. Far better to enter into contracts to supply military equipment. And for Tehran all these manipulations are fairly obvious. That is why the negotiations have been dragging on for so long. That is why the Iranian leadership is not in a hurry to make concessions, because if they agree to all the conditions imposed by the US and other countries participating in the talks, the sanctions may remain, and Iran's role as a leader in the Middle East will be reduced to nothing.
Today’s issue of Bloomberg Business writes about the fight of the European Union for Greece. Neither Merkel nor Hollande like the convergence of Greece and Russia, so they are trying by all means to prevent country’s exclusion from the euro zone. The Chancellor of Germany, for example, condemns Greek prime minister Tsipras for holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stressing that the country's problems should be solved within the country, without the participation of the general public.
However, Greece sees Russia as a reliable partner, which is much more profitable to enter into transactions with than the countries of the EU. Greece needs money, and Moscow can help in this, as opposed to the European Union. More recently, the EU leaders discussed the issue of excluding Greece, and now that they face the threat of the country's rapprochement with Russia, they have dramatically changed their political course. Western analysts believe that if Greece does not reverse its decision, the European Union will face the threaten of a split, which cannot be tolerated. However, Europe can no longer influence the decision of Tsiprus.
Turkey’s Zaman Daily writes that the sanctions against Russia are having affect on Turkey. Although Turkey did not support the sanctions against Russia, the Turkish economy has felt the impact of the decrease in the purchasing power of the population of the Russian Federation. That is why the Turkish leadership is looking for all possible ways to contribute to the lifting of sanctions against Russia.
Meanwhile, among the 28 countries of the European Union, there is no agreement about the measures imposed against Moscow. The German government, for example, is looking for solutions to the events in Ukraine, in order to have a legitimate reason for lifting the sanctions. First of all because Europe is faced with the threat of an energy crisis. In addition to Germany and Turkey, Spain also doubts about the wisdom of economic pressure on Russia. Maybe soon the question of sanctions will be resolved in favor of Moscow, but before that happens Europe will face even greater challenges than those it faces now.
