Ahmadinejad proposes to reduce Tehran’s population

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, that his administration plans to reduce Tehran’s population by offering benefits. Citizens of Tehran that decide to move from Tehran to other cities will receive credits, lands and subsidies, 1news.az reports citing Mehr news.


According to the president, Iran authorities prepared a complex project to relocate some part of the population from Tehran provinces to provinces of other cities, adding that the project’s details will be revealed later.
“Tehran faces such problems as traffic jams, air pollution, that can be solved, but how can we prevent an earthquake? In order to reduce the population and reach the standard level 5 million will have to be relocated.” – he said.
