Turkey halts football championship over attack on team

 

The Turkish Ministry for Sport and the National Football League have decided to halt the national championship a week ahead of its start due to an attack on Fenerbahce S.K. bus on Saturday, ANS reports.Fenerbahce was to play with Caykur Rizespor from Rize. The latter was hosting the game and was declared loser 1:5.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and the Turkish Football Federation condemned the people shooting the Fenerbahce bus.
